In Version 2.0.3 FPR, the 5-String Banjo has all kinds of exotic tunings, but the Standard 5-String Banjo tuning that most of the world uses (G, D, G, B, D) is missing. What's up with that?

I just updated to Version 2.1.1 on my Mac, to see if this had been fixed, but now I can't use the application at all, because each time I try to open it, an error message pops up, saying...

"Neck Diagrams 2.app can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information."

Obviously, this is a whole different topic, so I will post about it separately. But does anyone know if Neck Diagrams is aware that the Standard 5-String Banjo tuning is missing?

Thanks!

Hi whydavewhy,

The "Open G" tuning in ND i the correct tuning. It looks "wrong" because it's adjusted for the fact that the top G string actually starts at the 5th fret. So when you create diagrams you actually get the right notes.

We'll see about sorting out the 5th string sometime soonish, so it looks correct and doesn't lead to confusion..

Re running 2.1.1 on Catalina, I've replied to your other post, in brief you can - blog post which is linked to by the Download button tells you how!
