I'm having a problem with the text below a neck diagram (see attached)

I put the suggested fingerings below the frets and they look fine in the editor, but when they print or export to pdf they are not aligned as they were in the editor. Is there a better way to do this? I dont know if this would be considerd a defect or user error.

It would be helpful to have a pentagon shape. In the attached diagram, I use the diamond shape to indicate the V note but a pentagon would be a better symbol. I havent figured out how to do that.

I would like to add a key to my diagram to show that the open circle is the root, the triangle is the 3rd and the diamond (or pentagon) is the 5th. I can't figure out how to do that.

Great program.
Looking forward to version 2.

Hi RChibnik

With regards to the moving text on PDF export - this was fixed in 1.9.1 so can you confirm you're running that version. You can find this info either on the on the splash screen at launch or under the Help>About Neck Diagrams menu within the application.

If you're already running 1.9.1 then could you email the PDF to support@neckdiagrams.com which will automatically open a ticket for the support team to investigate. We can then correspond with you directly instead of via the forum. If not you can download it here - www.neckdiagrams.com/download

I'll find out what new shapes are planned and if and add Pentagon if it's not already on the list.

Hmmm you're the second person in a week to ask for the ability to add a key. I will put it forward to our developers for consideration.

Unfortunately, the easiest way to achieve this is at present is to screen grab / shot the symbols crop them in a separate graphic editor like paint, gimp etc and then import them as an image into ND. Once you've set up your key you could save it as a template so it's all set up for new documents. Just save the document as normal, then locate it in the Diagram Gallery, Right click and select Save As Template.

Thanks for the reply. Am running 1.91. Will send a PDF.
I realized that by indicating the root, ND will fill in the scale degrees, minimizing the need for the special shapes, but it would be convenient none the less.

Hi RChibnik - just to let you know I've raised a ticket for our developers to add Pentagon and Hexagon if possible. I also put inverted triangle but not sure if this will be accepted.

At this point in time I have no idea when the new shapes will be added but following our Facebook page is a good idea if you want to keep up to date with what's going on www.facebook.com/neckdiagrams

You can sign up to the newsletter over on our site - http://www.neckdiagrams.com/blog (the sign up box is in the right hand panel).

Thanks
