G Major Pentatonic Scale and CAGED chords

Attached is a PDF showing the G Major Pentatonic scale across 22 frets, along with the five positions and the chords that fit them. My goal is to create one or two reference sheets to teach practical application of scales on the fretboard for both penta and diatonic chords and modes.

This is my first effort - Neck Diagrams is a very flexible tool for putting these together - much faster than visio.

    I welcome your feedback.

    Hi,

Definitely a good start! I'd maybe try to make sure your fretboard titles don't overlap the fret numbers though And maybe fret numbers would be handy on the big long fretboard across the top? Although if the aim is to simply show the interwoven shapes then there's no need perhaps...

Looks like you've been hit by the export issue where the musical symbols don't come out right on Windows. I think I posted a simple way to fix that in some thread, will try to hunt it down, but it's actually fixed in the upcoming v1.9 release anyway!

And very glad to hear you're liking Neck Diagrams and it's proving to be a time saver

    Thanks for the feedback

Good feedback. I'll try tweaking and spacing things out a bit. Neck Diagrams is so easy to use and get a neat, clean result. I like the fact that I can copy a diagram and paste it in another doc.

    Looking forward to 1.9

+1 on the suggestion for being able to write out tabs. Would be good to do charts as well, though I know its not a neck diagram, per se. It would be great to chart out a song, neatly, and include some tabbed licks/riffs as well as chord voicings.

Really excellent program. I recommend it to anyone who will listen.

User who're happy to share the work with the forum are welcome to upload the .FBD file, but this is entirely up to the individual who spent all the time creating their masterpieces.

If you're not sure how to share FBD files, take a look at this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7CethmxGvU
