v1.3 has just been released and there's a bunch of great new features that'll make life easier for everyone and help bring about world peace!
OK maybe the world peace bit is pushing it a bit... So here's what's new in 1.3 and some info on where/how to access each feature:
- intelligent interval naming
- e.g. shows b6 for Aeolian, #5 for same interval in Lydian Augmented
- new feature for users to override interval & note names
- e.g. you can use compound interval names on chords such as G13
- a fretboard must be set to show intervals or note names, this feature is accessed in the Inspector when a note marker is selected you’ll see this for note names:

- and similar for intervals, but the drop down list will show alternative interval names not note names:

when set, the 'Apply override to whole fretboard' allows you to set every note/interval to show your override wherever it appears on the fretboard
- new feature to control string gauge appearance
- this is an option in the Inspector, for fretboards, on the ‘Other’ tab
| options are: default (as current 3 thin & remainder increasing), Thin (all strings drawn with a thin line), Thin, Bold (all strings thin & bold), Medium (all strings using a medium gauge), and Thick (all strings using a thick gauge - ideal for bassists!) |
|
- new options in the Scale Generator to specify note marker style to use
- added a combo box allowing you to choose Circle / Square / Triangle, and a check box to control if they should be hollow or not
- new Gallery 'List' view mode, shows smaller thumbnails and file name to the right of the thumbnail
- existing Gallery 'Icon' view has feature to show file name below icon
- menu: View > Gallery Item Titles
- tooltip shown when mouse hovered over a Gallery icon with a filename that is too wide to show fully

- added ability to move (drag/drop) folders and projects in the Gallery view
- dragging a project into another project or folder will covert it into a folder
- dragging a folder to the blank area at the bottom of the file list or gallery will convert the folder to a project
- note marker outline now bolder
- the outline option was previously not very well defined, now has much better visilbity
- PDF export note marker improvements
- note markers could previously have a ‘crescent’ artifact in the bottom right corner, this has now been resolved
- diagram editor now larger on Mac so less need to use the zoom
- diagrams were previously showing 33% smaller on Macs than on Windows, due to a misunderstanding about the whole 72/96 DPI issue..!
Phew! There you go, like we said... lots of great stuff!!
